7 P.M. on a Saturday
Friends speeding up while continuing their conversation.

7 P.M. on a Saturday
Motorists envious for at least 10 seconds. Cycle Chic alert.

7 P.M. on a Saturday
Utility ways of Amsterdam cyclists, man or woman.

7 P.M. on a Saturday
Speed & practicality.

7 P.M. on a Saturday
Resting easy at bike traffic light & turning right on red.

7 P.M. on a Saturday
Tourists rolled into frame from the pavement, passed the traffic light (no biggie), but still too scared or oblivious to use the bike lane, plus blocking the other bike lane…what MORE does a city need to do to make it easy? Ten seconds later I saw the bloke crossing at the exact time that the cars started pulling up, and he quickly had to jump back. *Sigh*.

Beautiful photography as usual. Your depiction of Amsterdam makes these American eyes envious.

Thanks! I’m shooting stills with my video camera, still saving up for a proper one, hopefully soon giving Amsterdam biking a better depiction.

Envy is once thing, but for what it’s worth, I’d love to be a renegade for a day again, which I felt like when I lived in NYC in 1992/93. πŸ™‚

There are more bakfietsen parked outside that one playground than I’ve seen in Cambridge in the last 3 years.
