Riding the streets of Amsterdam you’ll see that this city is under continuous construction, renovation, most notably because of the extension of the subway system, crossing right through the heart of town.
Cyclists suffer the least from all this, as we don’t need much space in the first place and our needs are dealt with first, as it’s the nr 1 mode of transportation.
The great part about all this long term construction work is that much of it is hidden from the buzzing city life by long walls. These are erected, and at first it looks borish and tedious. But, Amsterdam has a long history of street & grafitti art, and these circumstances always bring out the best. Fast.
So along our downtown bike routes you can enjoy the quirky, the beautfiul, the obscene, the thought provoking and otherwise eye pleasing temporary arts of the people.
A’dam biking, never a dull moment.
